1. Aims of the Summer Training Committee Increase students understanding of theoretical science, which they have received in their field of study. Provide opportunities for students to gain practical experience and training before graduation in the actual work environment. Familiarize students to carry responsibility and to be punctual. Provide industrial enterprises with information about the quality of human resources (college graduates) that will contribute to the industry in the future. Familiarize students to be able to deal with members of the community outside the university in related work environment. Familiarize students with the importance of respecting others and listen to their views. Provide an opportunity for those enterprises to evaluate student s performance during the period of training and to know how to utilize them and to offer them jobs after graduation. Summer training is a great opportunity for male and female students to look for a job that suite their capabilities and future ambitions. P.O. 2. Committee Members The committee comprises of the following members: Dr. Suliman Amro Al- Amro Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Hagery Dr. Abou El-Maaty M. Summary By the end of the academic year 1435/1436AH 2014/2015, the committee of the Summer Training at the College of Computer has met four times and a several of one to one meetings. 3. 1 Achievements of the committee 1) Running two introductory lectures for male and female students explaining all the requirements, tasks and conditions of the summer training on the established pattern annually. 2) Reviewing the name of companies and enterprises that positively participated in training the students of our College during the last three academic years and updating the list of these names. 3) Encouraging and motivating students to get training opportunities fit with their places of residence, their orientation and their specialties. 4) Solving male and female students problems from time to time and continuous coordination with the coordinator of the female Branch to solve pending problems regarding training, and give appropriate P.O. instructions to them. 5) Announcing the start of registration procedures for every male and female student exceeded 71 credit hours. 6) Processing covering letters for all male and female students through the Vice Dean for Student Affairs. 7) Receiving responses from companies and sorting them out. 8) Processing the final official letters which approved by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs for all students male and female to address the training bodies for the purpose of receiving the students, looking after them and following their performance up during the training period. 9) Completing the rest of the necessary steps to start training. 3.2 Training Results Through the results that have been sorted out, as well as through personal interview, which was held for the trainees, the following statistics shows numbers of trainees that have been effectively trained during the last summer: 7 male students form the department 14 male students form the Computer Engineering department 6 male students form the Computer Science department 82 female students form the department The total number of trainees was 27 male students and 82 female students so the total number was 109 male and female students for the summer of 1435/1436AH 2014/2015 P.O. Yearly Tasks of the Committee The summer training committee works continuously throughout the year starting from the second week of the academic year to the week after final exams of the second semester of each year and it includes the following: (1) Receiving the results of the trainees within three weeks to a month of the beginning of each year. (2) Running an individual interview with each trainee during the fourth 14

and fifth week through the Committee of the summer training depending on number of agreed criteria. The interview continues from one to two weeks depending on the number of the trainees. (3) Hosting a meeting for the returning trainees where an elite number of them from the three departments speak. A large number of the students of the College and an interested number of faculty members attend this meeting. (4) The results is adopted and announced in the seventh week of the first semester. (5) Getting ready again for the summer training procedures for the following year. (6) Urging the female and male students to look for suitable opportunities according to their specialties and places of residence. (7) Preparation lists of students who must be trained during the next summer in collaboration with the Student Affairs and sorted them. (8) Organizing an introductory lecture for male students first then to the female students both individually at the beginning of the second semester during the fourth week. This lecture answers most of the inquiries and questions and explain to them all of the requirements related to the training. (9) Start processing covering letters for all male and female students from the fourth week of the second semester. (10) Issuing final letters from the thirteenth to the eighteenth week of the second semester. Summary of the Minutes: 1. : Review the previous meeting minutes No(1). 2. Subject : Discussion the procedures of starting the summer training for the next summer for the academic year 1435-1436. Aim : Send a high number of students who satisfied the summer training conditions, from CEN, CS, departments and from Department girl section, motivate, and encourage all students for doing the best training. Procedure: : Prepare students lists, give students a seminar to show them all regulations and conditions, rules, and constrains of training program. Prepare students letters, start the registration process. Recommendations : The committee recommends all members to push students to find opportunities in good companies related to their field of study and each representative should force his students to be serious regarding to this subject within the deadline. Decision : Committee members are agreeing to accomplish all the following tasks within two weeks: 1- Contact with the students affairs to prepare the list of who will be allowed to register for the training program during 4 days, the committee coordinator will do this task. 2-Prepare the students lists for those who will be allowed to register the next summer training and are exceeded 72 hours including the registered hours for current semester. 3- Execute the annual seminar through the next week in both boy section and in Girl section in two different days, the committee coordinator will do this task and the departments representatives will attend. 4- Announce to students by emails and announcement board to attend the annual seminar for the summer training in both Boys and Girls sections, two seminars. 25

5- Starting the registration process at each department and push students to find suitable training opportunities as soon as possible after the seminar done (available a list with More than 140 companies). 6- Prepare students letters directed to the training companies, where the student will go to search for a training chance. Summary of the Minutes: 1. : Review the previous meeting minutes number (2). 2. Subject : Follow and complete the procedures related to the coming summer training. Aim : Give students an attention and continuously follow them to search for training opportunities. : Review the number of opportunities that the students already have got it in each department. Procedure: 1- Committee members should motivate their student; the committee representative at each department is the responsible of this task. 2- Each department representative should provide a list of opportunities, contains students names and Company name and the training place, other information got until this date. Recommendations : Continuously push students to find more summer training opportunities in their specialist. Decision : All committee members are agreeing to perform procedures listed above, to accomplish the required tasks and to take the recommendation into account. Any other related subjects. Note: Summer training for the coming summer maybe facing a problem, where the college decision regarding to enable students to register courses in coming summer semester, this in turn will reduce the number of students who will accomplish the training, because it is not allowed for any student to register courses and attend the summer training program at the same time, some students starts to change from Summer training program to summer courses, to finish more credit hours. Aim : To prepare the annual report, to announce the results to students, and to close down the students archive for the last year. Procedure: Recommendations Decision Committee members do the group discussion and present their views about the provided results, the company's list. : Committee members do the cross review of allotted list of training results and training companies. : Committee members approved the training results for the last summer, to be announced to the students as soon as possible, and giving recommendations to modify the training companies list, to be used next year based on the training results of the last summer, and put the companies with worst training at the black list to avoid sending students to these companies.
